Invitation to Carer Interest Network Gathering on Tuesday 28th May 2019 at C-Gate, Dundee Carers Centre. Gathering runs from 9.30am-11.30am
Carer Interest Network is a means of working together more effectively and proactively in meeting the needs of carers. The Network is open to all organisations providing generic and targeted support to unpaid carers across Dundee.
The guest presenters at the upcoming gathering include:
- Julie Wardrop (Co-Founder and Chair) CANDU – CANDU is a patient and survivor-led charity which works to ensure the lived experience of patients and their families, and carers, are placed at the heart of service design and delivery, ensuring a person-centred and compassion-focussed approach.
- Carina Mitchell (Director) Advocating Together – Advocating Together defend and safeguard people with learning disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or Complex Communication Support Needs through independent, professional, collective and self-advocacy to have a stronger voice, access the most suitable information they need to make real choices and to have as much control over their own lives.
There will also be an opportunity to find out more information about the local ‘Carers of Dundee’ Campaign and Event being held on on Saturday 15h June at Slessor Gardens during National Carers Week.
